Originally spanning nearly 1.9 million acres upon its establishment in 1996, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument faces a critical moment following recent executive actions that reduced its official boundaries by roughly 90%. As we mark the monuments 30th anniversary, defending and stewarding the broader landscape has never been more vital. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of this protected landscape, we are challenging you to hike, run, swim, or walk 30 miles in 30 days, funding critical conservation, stewardship, and science to ensure this landscape is protected for another 30 years and beyond.
