Join Dr. Kim Leverett, breast cancer survivor and owner of A Kick Above: A Personal Training Studio, for the inaugural Stride For A Cure: 5K for Breast Cancer Awareness on Saturday, October 26th, 2024 in Little Rock, Pulaski. This event will feature a 5K walk/run to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, with all net proceeds going to the Arkansas Cancer Coalition. Participants will receive a long sleeve dri-fit shirt, medal, timer with live results, snacks, and water at the finish line. Organiser's Description
This race is organized by Dr. Kim Leverett, breast cancer surivor and owner of _A Kick Above: A Personal Training Studio _as the inaugural 5K Walk/Run for Breast Cancer Awareness! Kim practiced pharmacy full time for 10 years before she made the decision to move from pharmacy to personal training. It allowed her to remove the band-aid that medications sometimes place on conditions and truly assist people on their personal journey to wellness. In 2013, after a routine mammogram, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She immediately began treatment which included six rounds of chemotherapy and 35 rounds of radiation treatment. Throughout her breast cancer treatment, she continued to work out daily and train clients, some of whom had no idea about her diagnosis. Although incredibly hard, she attributes her faith in Christ, fitness level, her ability to remain active, and her clients support that kept her going. Kim has been cancer-free since 2014 and continues to teach others the importance of overall health and wellness as a way to best equip their body for living! Net proceeds will go to the Arkansas Cancer Coalition. Let's stride for a cure!
