STRIDES FOR SAFETY is a family-friendly, timed 5K at Winton Woods organized by JANE HOLBROOK, a high school junior living with severe food allergies. The event BENEFITS food allergy awareness and advocacy.
More than 1 IN 13 CHILDREN AND 1 IN 10 ADULTS in the U.S. have a food allergyover 33 million people. A food-allergic reaction sends someone to the emergency room every three minutes. Funds raised through this event support the FOOD ALLERGY & ANAPHYLAXIS CONNECTION TEAM (FAACT), an organization dedicated to education, advocacy, and research, while supporting families in Cincinnati and across the country living with life-threatening food allergies.
The 3.1-MILE COURSE AT WINTON WOODS PARK features a scenic lake, wooded trails, and beautiful spring views. The event is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilitiesfamilies, kids, and first-time 5K participants are welcome.
