Strut for the Strays - Virtual Event / In Person

13th annual Strut for the Strays! This years event participation can be completed virtually or in person to support the animals at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Virtually you can participate in a one mile walk, 5K or 10K walk or run, and a 20 mile bike ride done in one outing or combine from multiple trips and accumulate your time and distance. (Only the 5K is supported in person at the shelter) In Person event at the shelter on the 8th of July begins at 8:30am, day of race registration starts at 7:00am.
Register 3 or more participants at the same time and receive $2 off per registrant! (does not apply to canine registration)
T-shirts are provided for all paid participants registered by July 1st, 2023; participants registered after will receive shirts as supplies last. 
People Awards: There are prizes for the first place participant in three categories: men 17 and older, women 17 and older and kids 16 and younger for the 5K. We will also have medals for the top three finishers in these categories for the 5K.
Canine Awards: This year we will again celebrate our canine participants. There will be medals for 1st-3rd on the canine participants in the 5k by time, and a gift basket for the first place dog in the 5K.  Please sign your dog up separately for them to be eligible for prizes ($10 entry fee for dogs, includes race bandanna).
Packet pick up available starting June 26th- can be mailed for an additional $12.50 postage cost. Please contact shelter to schedule a time for pickup.
All proceeds from this event are used to provide medical care, primarily heartworm preventative, treatment and vaccines for our animals at the shelter. Thank you for supporting our animals!!  Consider an extra donation and earn a FREE entry to the race. Details below.
Results will be posted during the race and on this website. The race is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation.
