Get ready for an exhilarating day of athleticism and natural beauty at the Sullivan Lake Triathlon 2026! Taking place on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, in the stunning Sullivan Lake Recreational Area of Metaline Falls, Pend Oreille, this sprint triathlon promises to be an unforgettable experience for participants of all levels.

Swimmers will kick off the event with a refreshing 750-meter swim in the pristine waters of Sullivan Lake, starting from the scenic Noisy Creek Campground boat launch. After conquering the swim, athletes will hop on their bikes for a thrilling 20-kilometer ride along Sullivan Lake Road, where breathtaking views of the lake will keep your spirits high. Rounding off the race, participants will tackle a 2.5-kilometer run to the picturesque Harvey Creek Bridge, finally crossing the finish line back at the Noisy Creek Day Use Area. All finishers will be rewarded with a coveted medal, a well-deserved recognition of their hard work and determination. Organiser's Description

A sprint triathlon located in the beautiful Sullivan Lake Recreational Area of the Colville National Forest near Ione, Washington. You will swim 750m in Sullivan Lake, starting at the Noisy Creek Campground boat launch. Next you will complete a 20km bike on the Sullivan Lake Road, where you will have beautiful views of the lake to inspire your ride. The Bike turn around is at the Mill Pond Campground, returning to the Noisy Creek Day Use Area, your run will take you back out to the Sullivan Lake Road and you will run 2.5km to the Harvey Creek Bridge where you will turn around there and your finish line awaits you back at the Noisy Creek Day Use Area.

You will receive a Finisher's Medal once you cross the finish line!
To reach the Sullivan Lake Triathlon, head 90 miles north of Spokane, WA, and take Highway 31 north towards Ione. About a mile south of Ione, turn onto Sullivan Lake Road (County Road 9345) and follow it for 8.2 miles to the campground entrance on the south end of Sullivan Lake

Participants will receive a t-shirt, swim cap and a custom racing bib. Participants registering after July 24th, will not receive a t-shirt, if you would like a t-shirt and register after July 24th, let us know and it will be mailed to you after the event.

Reservations can be made through Reservations.gov East and West Sullivan Lake Campgrounds - these are fee based campgrounds. Reservations can be made through Reservation.gov Mill Pond Campground and Moon Flats Campgrounds a fee free, but do not have hook-ups, Both are able to take a 25 foot RV. These campgrounds are first come, first serve. No reservations available.

    Sullivan Lake Triathlon, Youth Category is a super sprint length triathlon for youth ages 10 - 17 years. There will be water support during the swim portion, and attendants at both the bike and run turn around. Minimal float devices on arms or pool noodles will be allowed for the youth event only. Youth category will start as a separate wave from the adults. The distances are for the super sprint will be: Swim - 500m, Bike - 10km, Run/Walk - 3km. Transition will take place in the same area as the adults, parent supervision is required while youth are in the transition area. *** Sullivan Lake Road will not be closed to traffic during the race. ***

This is an excellent event! Folks who organize and volunteer are super friendly. Swim is just right, beautiful bike ride and run. Can't wait to come back next year. Thank you!!!
