Get ready to kick off summer in style at the Summer Solstice Sun Run Challenge on Friday, June 20th, 2025, in beautiful Fort Wayne, Allen! This exciting event invites runners and walkers of all levels to embrace the longest day of the year with a unique two-part challenge. Start your day with a solo sunrise run at 6:00 AM, followed by a thrilling group sunset run at 6:30 PM at Fleet Feet. Participants will tackle a 5K in the morning and another 5K in the evening, with the goal of finishing the sunset run faster than the sunrise run!
Join us in celebrating the onset of summer with not only invigorating runs but also plenty of fun activities afterward. Those who conquer both runs will earn a special commemorative Sun Run Challenge Champion shirt, and the fastest male and female finishers will receive gift certificates from Fleet Feet. To top off the festivities, enjoy a refreshing Malibu Sunrise Craft Cocktail or a summer mocktail post-run, and take part in games, raffles, and delicious summer-themed snacks. Once again Fleet Feet Fort Wayne is asking you to challenge yourself and push your own limits. The Summer Solstice Sun Run Challenge includes a sunrise run on your own at or around 6am and then a group sunset run at 6:30pm held at Fleet Feet, on Summer Solstice Friday June 20th.
The twist is that the goal is to run your sunset 5K faster than your sunrise 5K. Are you going to join us?
Details:
When: Friday June 20th
Sunrise Run: 6:00am on your own. ( Document proof of the run)
Sunset Run: 6;30pm at Fleet Feet Fort Wayne
Distance: 5K at sunrise, 5K at sunset
If you complete the challenge by running the sunset run and the sunrise run, you will win a free Sun Run Challenge T-shirt. The fastest evening finishers (1st male and 1st female) will receive Fleet Feet gift certificates.

Celebrate the longest day of the year! Join Fleet Feet Fort Wayne for our Third annual Summer Solstice Sun Run Challenge.
The Challenge: runners/walkers can celebrate the 15 hours of daylight on June 20th by first running/walking at or near sunrise on June 20th on your own (take a photo, you must have proof) and then join us at Fleet Feet that evening for an evening sunset run at 6:30pm.
(Yeah, yeah we know sunset is not until 9:11pm that day but it is a "Friday" and some of us have to get to bed and get ready for work the next day!)
Runners/ Walkers who do the challenge will receive a special commemorative Sun Run Challenge Champion shirt for completing the Challenge.
All runners and walkers may also just join us for the evening run only if they so choose. But only those who have proof of running both AM and PM will receive the shirt!
And........The Bar is Open!! All runners and walkers will be rewarded however with a Malibu Sunrise Craft Cocktail or other
summer adult beverage or mocktail after completing the evening run. We will have yours truly mixing up summer drinks to get you ready for all those summer celebrations.
Finally there will be a raffle, games, giveaways and some fun summer themed snacks. The men's evening 5K and women's evening 5K winners will receive a Fleet Feet Gift Card.

The run registration is free , you can earn the chance to win giveaways if you complete both runs.
Please note that this Challenge is not a chipped timed race. It will be conducted via stopwatch/manually/w/finish numbers
