Scheduled for Saturday, December 13th, 2025, in the picturesque town of Basalt, Colorado, this festive event promises a fun-filled day for participants of all ages and abilities. While this year's race has unfortunately been cancelled due to unforeseen customs issues, the spirit of the Santa Sprint is still alive! Participants who signed up will receive a full refund, and we sincerely apologize for this unexpected turn of events.
Originally designed to be a vibrant celebration, the Basalt Santa Sprint 5K aimed to bring together families and friends for a spirited run through the charming streets and pathways of Basalt, with all runners dressed in festive Santa suits. This unique event was set to support the wonderful Holiday Baskets organization, making it not only a race but a way to give back to the community. We hope to see you all in future events as we continue to celebrate the joy of running and community spirit during the holiday season!

Welcome to the 1st annual BASALT SANTA SPRINT 5K! A festive family friendly 5K race for all ages and abilities (ages 6 & up).
Join us SATURDAY, DECEMBER 13TH 2025 in Basalt, CO for a holiday race unlike anything you've ever seen before.
Start gun goes off at 9:00AM!
All participants will receive a santa suit included with their registration to wear while racing along with chip timing and a finisher medal.
Bib and santa suit pick up will take place on Friday evening, December 12th in downtown Basalt (Location TBD) as well as race morning beginning at 7:00AM in Basalt River Park.

* The 5K course will take place through out the greater old town area, navigating neighborhood streets, bike paths, and sidewalks. The race will start and finish in Basalt River Park. Course map will be released in the coming weeks.
