Get ready to have a blast at The Fools Run 5K & 10K, taking place from April 4-5, 2025, on the stunning South Padre Island in Cameron, Texas! This exciting two-day event invites participants to dress in their most outrageous costumes while they tackle the beautiful beach courses. Choose between the chip-timed 10K run (6.2 miles) or the fun-filled 5K walk (3.1 miles), both starting and ending at the Margaritaville Beach Resort. There’s also a special Kids 1 Mile race to ensure that everyone can join in on the fun!
Beyond the exhilarating races, participants will enjoy hydration stations along the course, live music, and a festive atmosphere with awards for top finishers and the best costume! A portion of the proceeds benefits Walk for Women, Inc., supporting women battling breast cancer in the Rio Grande Valley. Early registration is encouraged to secure a spot and a commemorative T-shirt. Come and Fool around with us on the best beach in Texas for a 2-Day event! We encourage you to bring your family and friends and dress up in your most foolish costume as you tackle the 5k and/or Chip Timed 10K course! A portion of proceeds will be benefiting Walk for Women, Inc. a non-profit organization that benefits women in the lower Rio Grande Valley by providing financial, prosthetic and diagnostic support as they battle breast cancer.
Male and Female restrooms will always be open though out the hotel for participants. There is Valet parking available for purchase at Margaritaville and limited complimentary lot parking on site. Hydration stations will be provided on site at Margaritaville, as well as, at the halfway points on the race course on the beach. Award ceremonies and live music entertainment will be held immediately following the race/walk at Margaritaville Beach Resort!
RACE COURSE:
10K (6.2 miles). Starts and ends on the beach at Margaritaville Beach Resort on South Padre Island. Water and gatorade stations will be provided along the course and at the finish line. This will be a chip-timed course. You have the option to walk and/or run.
5K (3.1 miles). This course starts and ends on the beach at Margaritaville Beach Resort on South Padre Island. THIS IS NOT A RACE. IT IS A PARTICIPATION WALK. If youd like, you have the option to also jog and/or run.
KIDS 1 MILE: Starts and ends on the beach at Margaritaville Beach Resort.
AWARDS & PRESENTATIONS: Medals will be given to the overall 1st male and female winners as well as 1st through 3rd place winners in each male and female age division of the 10K. _IN ADDITION, THE OVERALL TOP MALE AND FEMALE WINNERS WILL RECEIVE A SPECIAL PRIZE! _ Overall winners will be ineligible for awards in their respective age divisions. ALL PARTICIPANTS CROSSING THE FINISH LINES WILL RECEIVE FINISHER MEDALS. (while supplies last!). Participants are encouraged to dress up in their most foolish costume for a chance to win a sweet prize for best costume!
