Join Chico Running Club for a different kind of mile race, The Jackpot Mile!
The Race Rules: are simple and a runner of any age, pace, or ability can win:
* Name your target pace for one mile (e.g. 8:00 minutes)
* You will be scored on how close you can get to your target pace, but...
* The race is run blind, you cannot use your phone or watch to assist your pacing. We will have a tech check at registration to hold your devices during the race.
* Runners who are closest to their target will win a share of the jackpot for the race based on placing. Proceeds will be divided 50/50 between the race jackpot and Chico Running Club. Race funds go to support CRC's non-profit mission to support runners, the Chico running community, and host races in town.
* After all runners have completed the mile the races times will be scored against the pre-race target times and winners will be announced. You must be present to win.
WHEN: SUNDAY January 11th, 2026 @ 9am (NEW DATE!!)
WHERE: Bidwell Park- One Mile Sycamore Pool on the Vallombrosa Avenue Side (Google Map [https://maps.app.goo.gl/SqWXnikAy1A4KYGx5])
WHAT: A timed one mile race on the new black top of the North Park drive. Bibs will be assigned, but the CRC race clock will not be timing this blind race!
FOOD: Refreshments to follow the race.
COURSE: Will be a one half mile out and back from the gate at One Mile on Petersen Memorial Drive (Strava Course Map [https://www.strava.com/routes/3384375450867420542])
