Get ready for an exciting day of fun, fitness, and community spirit at the Shield of Kindness 5k & Fun Run on Saturday, August 22, 2026! Taking place in beautiful Shreveport, Caddo, this vibrant event is all about supporting anti-bullying awareness and fostering a culture of kindness, courage, and respect among children and families. Participants can choose to join the 5k run or the 1-mile fun run/walk, with entry fees starting at just $10 for the fun run and $25 for the 5k, which includes a great t-shirt and an arm band for the community swim that follows.
The day's festivities kick off with the 1-mile fun run/walk at 7:40 a.m., followed by the 5k race and the Shield of Kindness Community Swim at 8:00 a.m. at the Town South Swim Club. This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together, celebrate kindness, and compete for awards in various age categories. Plus, if you can't make it to the event, you can still participate as a Sleep-In Supporter! Join us in Shreveport as we protect hearts and promote kindness—every step counts!

SLEEP-IN SUPPORTER: DO YOU WANT TO BE A DONOR TO THIS WORTHY CAUSE BUT YOU RE UNABLE TO ATTEND OR WOULD RATHER SLEEP LATE? SIGN UP AS A SLEEP-IN SUPPORTER AND YOU WILL RECEIVE THE T-SHIRT WITHOUT GETTING OUT OF BED THE MORNING OF THE RACE. NOTE: YOU STILL MUST FOLLOW THE SAME PACKET PICK-UP INSTRUCTIONS AS THE RUNNERS.
