The Tour de Dirt Summer Short Track Series is a fast, fourrace summer program designed to keep riders sharp, engaged, and having fun during the midseason lull. Each event features a 12 mile shorttrack course at either SCIP or Bluff Creek, offering quick laps, constant action, and a welcoming atmosphere for riders of all ages and skill levels. Whether youre building fitness for fall, chasing series points, or just looking for a fun weeknight battle, this series delivers highenergy racing with a community vibe.

WHAT IS SHORT TRACK?
Short Track (STXC) is a highintensity MTB format raced on a compact loop with frequent passing zones, open sightlines, and fast terrain. Unlike traditional XC, Short Track emphasizes speed, positioning, and repeated highpower efforts. Riders complete laps every few minutes, keeping the action visible and exciting for spectators.

RACE FORMAT
Each Short Track race follows a consistent, easytounderstand structure:
Mass start by category
2040 minutes of racing depending on age and division
When time expires, riders receive a 1 lap to go signal
First rider across the line after the final lap wins
Lapped riders may be pulled to maintain safety and fairness
Short Track is intense but approachable - perfect for riders who want a hard effort without committing to a long XC course.
FOURRACE SUMMER SERIES
The Summer STXC Series consists of four standalone races, split between SCIP and Bluff Creek. Each race is scored individually and contributes to the overall series standings. Riders may participate in one race or all four.
Each venue brings its own flavor:
SCIP: Fast grass sections, smooth flow, and wideopen visibility
Bluff Creek: Punchy climbs, quick transitions, and a mix of open and wooded edges
All courses follow the same core principles: flow, visibility, safety, and fun.
SCORING & SERIES AWARDS
Each race has its own podium and awards
Riders earn series points at every event
The best cumulative scores determine series champions
Must be present at the final race to receive series awards
