Participants can kick off the day with a spirited 5K recreational run starting at 11:00 a.m. CST, followed by the thrilling Putnam Plunge at noon, where you can choose to plunge into the natural lake right after your run or join the plunge-only crew.
Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun challenge, this event is perfect for ages 13 and up. Enjoy a post-race celebration featuring delicious chili, hot cocoa, coffee, and cookies, along with a cozy beanie to keep you warm. Don’t forget to bring your shoes or water shoes, and take advantage of the outdoor changing station and warming tents available on-site. With EMS on standby, you can dive into the plunge with peace of mind. Join us for a day of fun, fitness, and community spirit in beautiful Monterey!

Recreational 5K Run Start Time: 11:00 a.m. CST
Runners can choose to plunge right after run, or wait and plunge with the plunge only crew @ 12:00 noon CST
Plunge Only (without run) starts at 12:00 noon CST (Age 13 and up only)
Chili, hot cocoa, coffee, cookies & post race/plunge beanie included with the price of a ticket.
PLEASE NOTE:
* LAKE BOTTOM IS NATURAL, SHOES OR WATER SHOES ARE RECOMMENDED.
* THERE WILL BE AN OUTDOOR CHANGING STATION AVAILABLE ONSITE (CHANGE OF CLOTHES POST PLUNGE AND A WARM BLANKET HIGHLY RECOMMENDED).
* WE WILL HAVE A FEW TENTS WITH SMALL HEATERS ONSITE TO WARM YOURSELF POST PLUNGE ALSO.
* EMS WILL BE ONSITE.

Extreme enthusiam is encouraged :) -
