Join us on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, in Appalachia, Wise for the Troll Trail 5K and 1 Mile Candy Run! The 1 Mile Candy Run kicks off at 5:00 PM, where kids aged 6-10 can dress up, collect candy, and compete for medals and best costume prizes. Following that, the 4th Annual Troll Trail 5K begins at 5:30 PM, benefitting the Union High School Wrestling team. This fun event features a scenic out and back course, including two old train tunnels, perfect for all experience levels. Dress up, collect candy along the way, and compete for medals in various age groups. Same day registration is available, so come to the Historical Kelly View School starting at 4:00 PM to join in the fun! Don't miss out on this exciting and festive event organized by Union High School Wrestling team.
Organiser's Description
1 MILE CANDY RUN:
Race Starts at 5:00PM for ages 6-10
1 mile race where children have the option to dress up and collect candy along the 1 mile out and back course. Medals will be awarded for each age division and group (1st-3rd). Best costume prizes will be awarded.
TROLL TRAIL 5K:
Race starts at 5:30 PM
This is the 4th Annual Troll Trail 5K benefiting the Union High School Wrestling team. The race starts and finishes at the Powell River Trail head in Appalachia, VA. This will be a fun out and back course that is perfect for all experience levels. This paved course that will take your through two old train tunnels!
Runners are encouraged to dress up and try to win the best costume awards. Runners are also encouraged to bring something to collect candy as there will be people handing out candy along the course. Medals will be given to the overall male and female finishers and medals will be given to the top three in each age group.
Same day registration starts at 4:00 PM at the Historical Kelly View School for both races. Only pre-registered runners are guaranteed a race shirt.
