Get ready for a day of fun, fitness, and furry friends at Tumbleweed's Run for the Animals on Saturday, October 19th, 2024! Taking place in the picturesque Racho Reata Canyon trail system in Kennewick, Benton, this exciting event invites participants to run, jog, or waddle along a scenic 5 km or 1.0 mile course designed to support southeastern Washington's only rescue and sanctuary for farm animals.
Join in the festivities with a special 25-meter kids' waddle, where little ones of all ages can showcase their best farm animal costumes. After the race, meet the adorable animals you are helping to support during a sanctuary tour starting at 10:15 am. Participants can look forward to awards for the best duck-like waddle and costumes, as well as unique finisher gifts for the top male and female finishers in the 5K and the first place for the 1-mile event. Plus, all registered participants will receive a charming sanctuary-themed etched glass mason jar, with the first 20 to sign up for the 5K or 1-mile getting native plant seeds in their finisher packets. Organiser's Description
Run, jog, or waddle this 5 km or 1.0 mi course in the beautiful Racho Reata Canyon trail system to support southeastern Washingtons only rescue and sanctuary for farm animals. This scenic route will take place on single-track trails with some paved neighborhood roads starting and finishing at the animal sanctuary. We will also have a kids 25 m waddle, (farm) animal costumes are encouraged! Join us at the sanctuary after the run/waddle to meet the animals you are helping to support. We will have a sanctuary tour after the run starting at 10:15 am for all participants.
A 25 m kids (of all ages) waddle will take place shortly before the main race. Awards will be given for the best duck-like waddle and best duck costume.
Farm animal costumes are encouraged!
The top 3 male finishers and the top 3 female finishers for the 5k as well as the first-place finisher for the 1.0 miles will receive a unique finisher gift. All registered participants will receive a sanctuary-themed etched glass mason jar.
