Since its inception in 2023, the event has successfully raised over $20,000, bringing together more than 1,500 participants and 200 volunteers to make a meaningful impact.
Starting at 8:00 AM, this 5K race welcomes everyone—whether you prefer to run, walk, ruck, or roll. As we commemorate the 107th anniversary of Armistice Day, it's a great opportunity to show our veterans that they are valued and supported every day. Participants will receive a race shirt and a finisher medal, and the route will be professionally chip-timed for accurate results. Join us on Saturday, November 8, 2025, for the 3rd Annual UAB Veterans Day 5K at Railroad Park a meaningful community event dedicated to honoring those who have served and supporting the next generation of military-connected students.
Since launching in 2023, this event has raised over $20,000 and united more than 1500 participants and 200 volunteers in support of the UAB Veterans Relief Fund a critical resource for student veterans and dependents facing unexpected hardships. Thanks to this community support, we've already distributed over $6,000 in direct relief to students in need covering essentials like housing, books, and emergency expenses.
This year, were continuing our mission with even greater purpose.
Whether you're a runner, walker, rucker, stroller, or wheelchair racer all are welcome. Lace up to celebrate the 107th anniversary of Armistice Day, and join UAB Veteran Services in continuing a proud tradition that began right here in Birmingham in 1947.
Together, lets show our veterans they are seen, valued, and supported not just on Veterans Day, but every day.
