Join us for the 4th Annual UAB Veterans Day 5K on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Railroad Park in Birmingham, Jefferson County! This uplifting community event celebrates and honors our veterans while supporting military-connected students. Since its inception in 2023, the UAB Veterans Day 5K has become one of Birmingham's cherished traditions, attracting over 1,100 participants last year alone. With your support, more than $22,000 has been granted to help students facing housing insecurity and unexpected expenses.
Whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or prefer to join from afar through our virtual option, everyone is welcome at the starting line. The race kicks off at 8:00 AM and features a professionally timed 5K, complete with race shirts and finisher medals for all participants. Plus, awards will be given to the top finishers in various categories. Don’t miss this opportunity to make a difference while enjoying a fun and energetic atmosphere in beautiful Birmingham!

Join us on Saturday, November 14, 2026, for the 4th Annual UAB Veterans Day 5K presented by Viva Health at Railroad Park a community event dedicated to honoring those who have served and supporting the next generation of military-connected students.
Since launching in 2023, this event has grown into one of Birmingham's most meaningful Veterans Day traditions. Last year alone, more than 1,100 participants and 100 volunteers showed up to make a difference and because of this community's support, we've granted over $22,000 in emergency funding to military-connected students since 2023, helping cover housing insecurity, unexpected expenses, and the everyday costs of earning a degree.
This year, we're continuing that mission with even greater purpose, and we want you to be part of it.
Whether you're a runner, walker, rucker, or wheelchair racer, there's a place for you at the starting line. Not local or can't make the date? Join us virtually OUR 2026 RACE INCLUDES A VIRTUAL OPTION open to UAB alumni and military-connected community members anywhere in the world.
