Join us for the 4th Annual UAB Veterans Day 5K on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the beautiful Railroad Park in Birmingham, Jefferson. This exciting community event celebrates our veterans while supporting the next generation of military-connected students. The 5K race welcomes everyone—whether you’re a runner, walker, rucker, or wheelchair racer—there’s a place for you at the starting line!
Last year, over 1,100 participants and 100 volunteers came together to make a significant impact, helping to raise $13,000 in emergency funding for military-connected students facing challenges. This year, we’re committed to continuing this vital mission and making an even bigger difference! The race kicks off at 8:00 AM, and all participants (except Kids FREE option) will receive a race shirt and finisher medal. Not in Birmingham? No problem! Join us virtually and be part of this meaningful event from anywhere in the world. Lace up your shoes, gather your friends, and let’s show how Birmingham takes care of its own!

Join us on Saturday, November 14, 2026, for the 4th Annual UAB Veterans Day 5K presented by Viva Health at Railroad Park a community event dedicated to honoring those who have served and supporting the next generation of military-connected students.
Since launching in 2023, this event has grown into one of Birmingham's most meaningful Veterans Day traditions. Last year alone, more than 1,100 participants and 100 volunteers showed up to make a difference and because of their support, we've been able to grant $13,000 in emergency funding in academic year 25-26 to military-connected students facing hardships like housing insecurity, unexpected expenses, and the everyday costs of earning a degree.
This year, we're continuing that mission with even greater purpose, and we want you to be part of it.
Whether you're a runner, walker, rucker, or wheelchair racer, there's a place for you at the starting line. Not local or can't make the date? Join us virtually our 2026 race includes a virtual option open to UAB alumni and military-connected community members anywhere in the world.

Free for children 12 and under run or walk the full 5K course. A registered parent or guardian must accompany all kids throughout the race. No shirt or medal included, but shirts are available for purchase during registration. Strollers welcome. -
1 Mile Fun Run

A relaxed, untimed 1-mile route open to all ages run or walk at your own pace. No bib or race shirt included, but a shirt may be added at checkout. Parents and guardians are welcome to walk alongside registered children.
