Get ready for an exciting day of fun and fitness at the UR Skeleton Run on Sunday, October 18th, 2026! Hosted in the scenic Deerfield Town Park, this vibrant event features a range of race distances to suit participants of all ages and abilities. Kids can kick off the festivities with a free Quarter Mile race, while the Community Run offers a 1.5-mile challenge for those looking to enjoy a leisurely jog. For the more competitive runners, the highlight is the 5K race, winding through the beautiful wilderness trails of the park—so expect some muddy adventures along the way!
Participants are encouraged to don their best running-safe costumes for a chance to add some extra fun to the event! Awards will be given to overall winners and the top three finishers in various age groups, including a special category for those aged 70-79. In the spirit of giving, runners are also invited to bring non-perishable food items to support the Deerfield food pantry. Join us for a day filled with community spirit, healthy competition, and a shared passion for running. We can't wait to see you at the Skeleton Run in Deerfield Town Park!

The Skeleton Run returns to Deerfield Town Park [https://maps.app.goo.gl/e7KugwKLpRHx1uJx7] for 2025!
Join us for the Free Kids Quarter mile race, Community run (1.5 mile), or 5K race - all within the beautiful Deerfield Town Park Wilderness trails - it could get muddy!! Costumes (run safe) encouraged! Unfortunately, race cannot support our four legged friends.
AWARDS: 5K Race awards for overall winners and top three in 10 year age groups including 70-79!
FOOD DONATIONS: We ask runners to optionally bring non-perishable food in their original packaging within their expiration date that will be donated to the Deerfield food pantry at the Mohawk Valley Church Food Pantry.
EVENT SUPPORT: We are also looking for volunteers and sponsors. Please use the signup feature on run signup.

OPENS 05 MAYA fun and challenging 5K course on the park trails. Trail conditions include gravel, grass, small hills, and bridge crossings. The trail will have minimal rocks and roots. Professionally timed with prizes for overall winners and 10 year age groups. -
Skeleton Community Run (1.5 Mile)

OPENS 19 APRA friendly 1.5 mile run through the first loop of the 5K course. Many participants will walk/jog this course and it's a great introduction to running on trails or for our youth runners. Participants can purchase a shirt at checkout while supplies last. -
Kids Quarter Mile Run (3-12 Year Old)

OPENS 05 APRThis fun run around the inner grass section in front of the pavilion. Parents are encouraged to accompany their children and are advised to be mindful of excited children quick changing direction, etc. Participants can purchase a shirt at checkout while supplies last. -
