Event summary

Join us for the Veterans Suicide Awareness Walk on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at the beautiful ASU-Beebe campus, starting near the McKay Student Center. This uplifting event aims to raise awareness of the critical issue of veteran suicide and promote mental health support within our communities. Participants can enjoy a scenic one-mile walk on accessible sidewalks, with a shorter option available for those who prefer it. Registration begins at 10:00 AM, and the walk kicks off at 11:00 AM.

This walk is not just an opportunity to show your support; it’s a chance to connect with friends, family, and fellow community members in a shared mission to destigmatize mental health treatment and empower those in need. Best of all, there’s no registration fee—everyone is welcome! Feel free to wear your favorite red, white, and blue outfit as a show of solidarity. After the walk, enjoy a complimentary lunch and explore various exhibits focused on veteran mental health resources. Together, we can make a difference—because YOU can be the one to help.

Organiser's Description

The American Legion Post 91 Family in Beebe is continuing our mission to prevent suicide in our veteran and military population along with other groups where we have seen a larger than average suicide rate.

The mission of The American Legion's Be The One initiative is to reduce the rate of veteran suicide. We're actively working on lessening the stigma associated with mental health treatment and empowering everyone to take appropriate action when a veteran or service member may be at risk one life at a time. _WHETHER YOU'RE A VETERAN OR THE FRIEND OR FAMILY-MEMBER OF A VETERAN, YOU CAN BE THE ONE._

American Legion Post 91 Family will host a "Be the One" walk for Veteran suicide awareness and prevention. This walk is part of the American Legion's Mission and an initiative involving multiple communities that will help build awareness about the crisis, destigmatize asking for mental health support, and will introduce participants to resources available to veterans who are possibly struggling.
