Organiser's Description
The Vyshyvanka Day is a holiday celebrated in Ukraine every year on the third Thursday of May. The main purpose of this day is to promote Ukrainian culture, traditions, and the national attire Vyshyvanka. On this day, people wear embroidered shirts and participate in various events, flash mobs, and cultural activities to emphasize their identity and pride in Ukrainian culture. The celebration unites people of all ages and statuses, fostering patriotism and the preservation of traditions. My goal is to draw attention to Ukrainian heritage across the United States through the organization of running events. This is not coincidental, as running has been a significant part of my life in the past, being a professional athlete, a World and European champion, and an Olympic participant. Today, I serve as a motivator and mentor for many enthusiasts of this sport, inspiring them to connect with their roots while promoting our vibrant culture.
