Join us for the inaugural Washington Police Explorers Post 2438 5k Run on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in the beautiful Washington Riverfront area of Franklin, Washington. This exciting event is not just a race – it’s a fantastic opportunity to support the youth in our community. Proceeds from the run will help send local explorers to the St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, fostering their interest in law enforcement and leadership.
Participants can look forward to a chip-timed 5k route that will take them along the scenic trail, with awards for the top three male and female finishers. All runners will receive a finisher medal and a t-shirt as part of their registration. This event is particularly special as it takes place just before National Police Week, highlighting the importance of community support for our law enforcement. Organiser's Description
The Washington Police Department explorer post will be hosting their inaugural 5k run. The money raised will be used to help send the explorers to the annual St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, which is a week long event held in the St. Louis area. The academy costs the post roughly $450 per year. A majority of this is paid for by the post to allow for all explorers to attend that want to attend, regardless of financial ability. We are hoping to send 6-7 explorers this year. This is a program that is designed for youth aged 14-20 who want to learn about law enforcement. Exploring is covered under the Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life umbrella.
This run is being held the day before National Police Week begins.
A FINISHER MEDAL AND T-SHIRT WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION FEE.
Awards will be given to top 3 males and top 3 females.
THE RUN IS BEING CHIP TIMED BY AFFORDABLE RACE TIMING!
The route will be at the Washington Riverfront and will be an out and back going east on the trail.
