Each registrant will receive a finisher medal and a t-shirt, with awards going to the top three males and females. This run aims to raise funds to help send 6-7 explorers to the St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder any young person's desire to learn about law enforcement. Organiser's Description
The Washington Police Department explorer post will be hosting their inaugural 5k run. The money raised will be used to help send the explorers to the annual St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, which is a week long event held in the St. Louis area. The academy costs the post roughly $450 per kid per year. A majority of this is paid for by the post to allow for all explorers to attend that want to attend, regardless of financial ability. We are hoping to send 6-7 explorers this year. This is a program that is designed for youth aged 14-20 who want to learn about law enforcement. Exploring is covered under the Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life umbrella.
Packet pickup will be from 6:30 AM-7:45 AM at the race site.
A FINISHER MEDAL AND T-SHIRT WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION FEE. REGISTRATIONS AFTER APRIL 26 WILL NOT GET A TSHIRT
Awards will be given to top 3 males and top 3 females.
THE RUN IS BEING CHIP TIMED BY AFFORDABLE RACE TIMING!
The route will be at the Washington Riverfront and will be an out and back going east on the trail.
