Join us for the inaugural Washington Police Explorers Post 2438 5k Run on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in beautiful Washington, Franklin! This exciting event not only promotes fitness and community engagement but also supports a great cause. Proceeds from the run will help send local youth explorers, ages 14-20, to the annual St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, an enriching week-long experience designed to foster interest in law enforcement careers.
Participants can look forward to a spirited race featuring a finisher medal for all runners, along with awards for the top three male and female finishers. This fun-filled day will kick off just before National Police Week, offering a perfect opportunity to honor our local law enforcement while encouraging and empowering the next generation. Lace up your running shoes and come out to support our youth and their aspirations! We can’t wait to see you there!

Organiser's Description
The Washington Police Department explorer post will be hosting their inaugural 5k run. The money raised will be used to help send the explorers to the annual St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, which is a week long event held in the St. Louis area. The academy costs the post roughly $450 per year. A majority of this is paid for by the post to allow for all explorers to attend that want to attend, regardless of financial ability. We are hoping to send 6-7 explorers this year. This is a program that is designed for youth aged 14-20 who want to learn about law enforcement. Exploring is covered under the Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life umbrella.
This run is being held the day before National Police Week begins.
A finisher medal will be included in the registration fee.
Awards will be given to top 3 males and top 3 females.
