Join us for the exciting Waterside Glow New Year's Eve 5K on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, in the vibrant community of Fort Mill, York! This unique nighttime race promises to be a dazzling celebration as participants light up the streets with glow items while running a specially marked route illuminated by chem lights. The festivities kick off with check-in at 11:00 PM at the Hideaway Gulch Green Space, leading up to the thrilling Glow Run that begins at 11:40 PM.
Not only will runners enjoy a fun and festive atmosphere, but they will also receive a unique Winter Pin as a keepsake instead of traditional medals, adding to the excitement of collecting race swag. We encourage local residents to join in the celebration by lining the sidewalks with music and cheers, creating an unforgettable experience for all. So, dress in your brightest attire and get ready to ring in the New Year with a memorable night of community spirit and fun!

Organiser's Description
We will have one route that will be marked with chem lights.
Volunteers needed. I would like someone to help make and handout hot chocolate for runners as they finish. Anyone that would like to have their cars or golf carts helping make sure our runners stay safe and keep intersections clear as they pass would be appreciated.
Neighbors not participating. Would love to see yall line the sidewalks in front of your homes and support our runners. Play music, cheer, noisemakers. Show our neighborhood love. Check out the route. If your house is on it, just step outside and cheer. If your home is not, come to the finish line or another spot on the course to watch and cheer on your neighbors.
Runners. Have fun. We will have glow items for you to wear during your run. However feel free to bring your own. Dress up in your best and brightest attire and start the New Year off right.

At the end of the race, each participant will be given a lanyard (if you havent gotten one from the Turkey Trot) and will select a Winter Pin design of their choosing that can be pinned to the lanyard. Every race we do, will have a unique pin. Collect them all and show off your Waterside race swag!
