THIS EVENT, IN MEMORY OF GREGG WENZEL 91, WILL CONSIST OF A 5K RUN/WALK AROUND CAMPUS. THE 5K IS OPEN TO ALL. WENZEL WAS A TRIATHLETE AND FORMER STUDENT-ATHLETE AT BINGHAMTON WHO COMPETED ON THE MENS VARSITY SWIMMING AND DIVING TEAM. HE WAS KILLED IN A CAR ACCIDENT IN JULY 2003 IN ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA, WHERE HE WAS WORKING AS A CIA DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS. RACE CHECK-IN AND ON-SITE REGISTRATION WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE WEST GYM. THE RUN/WALK WILL START AND END IN FRONT OF THE GREGG WENZEL MEMORIAL STATUE ON BEARCAT BOULEVARD. AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN TO THE TOP MALE AND FEMALE FINISHERS IN SEPARATE AGE CATEGORIES.
