Race-day registration kicks off at 7:45 A.M. in front of the West Gym, leading up to the official race start at 9 A.M.
The 5K run/walk not only celebrates Gregg's memory but also fosters a sense of community and friendly competition. Be among the first 50 finishers to earn a participation medal and enjoy a commemorative T-shirt if you register online by September 8. THIS EVENT, IN MEMORY OF GREGG WENZEL 91, WILL CONSIST OF A 5K RUN/WALK AROUND CAMPUS. THE 5K IS OPEN TO ALL. WENZEL WAS A TRIATHLETE AND FORMER STUDENT-ATHLETE AT BINGHAMTON WHO COMPETED ON THE MENS VARSITY SWIMMING AND DIVING TEAM. HE WAS KILLED IN A CAR ACCIDENT IN JULY 2003 IN ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA, WHERE HE WAS WORKING AS A CIA DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS. RACE CHECK-IN AND ON-SITE REGISTRATION WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE WEST GYM. THE RUN/WALK WILL START AND END IN FRONT OF THE GREGG WENZEL MEMORIAL STATUE ON BEARCAT BOULEVARD.
