Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the Winter Running Camp, happening from January 27th to February 1st, 2025, in Clive, Polk, Iowa! This immersive camp is designed for student-athletes in grades 6 through 12 who are eager to enhance their running skills and prepare for the upcoming Track & Field season. Each day from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, participants will engage in a variety of enriching activities, including daily 20-30 minute runs, education on warm-up drills, and insights into nutrition specifically tailored for runners.
Throughout the week, campers will learn from an incredible lineup of experts, including renowned XCTF announcer Mike Jay, sports dietician Ellen Davis, and 2012 Olympian Lisa Uhl, who will guide them through essential techniques to improve their running form and prevent injuries. On the final day, participants will also have the chance to set goals and receive inspiration from elite athletes. Plus, all registrants will receive a fun gear package to kickstart their running season! We invite student-athletes from 6th grade - 12th grade to experience an immersive camp dedicated to running education and growth hosted by Fitness Sports in Clive, IA! Get prepared for the 2025 Track & Field season with a foundational build and new skills to maximize their abilities and prevent injuries!

WHAT STUDENTS WILL EXPERIENCE:
- Education on proper warmup drills for running
- 20-30 minute run each day
- Mobility and flexibility, with encouragement from famous XCTF Announcer and founder of Track Guy, Mike Jay (Monday)
- Nutrition planning featuring sports dietician Ellen Davis, who specializes in runner fuel (Tuesday)
- Running form work and proper gear for maximum efficiency featuring Gait Analyst/Coach Lindsey Andrews, owner of Fitness Sports & former NCAA Div I XC Team Champion (Wednesday)
- Core strength and breathing techniques with (Thursday)
- Runner-specific strength training for injury prevention, featuring Isaiah Wittrock, NAIA National Champion in the 1500 & Dowling XCTF Coach (Friday)
- Goal Setting and inspiration featuring 2012 Olympian in the 10,000m, former Iowa State NCAA multi-time Champion and All-American, Lisa Uhl! (Saturday)
All registrants will get a fun gear package with awesome running gear items to use during the upcoming season! Registrants have the option to add a shirt for an additional $10 at checkout.
