Get ready for an exhilarating day of fitness and community spirit at the 1000 Strong Overcoming Obstacles 5K/10K, taking place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in beautiful Victoria, Texas! This unique trail race hosted by Restoration House Ministries is designed not just to challenge your physical limits, but also to inspire you to conquer life’s obstacles. Participants will navigate through a course filled with permanent structures, pop-up challenges, and mud pits, all while supporting a noble cause—helping young individuals overcome trauma, abuse, and addiction.
Join us at Patriot Park, located at 1867 Fordyce Rd, for a day of fun and camaraderie. The event kicks off at 7 AM with packet pick-up and late registration, followed by opening ceremonies at 7:45 AM. Runners and walkers will take off at 8 AM, with obstacle challengers starting shortly after. Don’t miss out on the chance to enjoy live race results, health and wellness vendors, delicious food trucks, and the chance to connect with fellow participants. Organiser's Description
Restoration House Ministries' trail race features permanent structures, pop up challenges, and mud pits that will not only give you a great work out but also satisfy that inner desire to OVERCOME! These same obstacles that will be used for health, well-being and competition will be a symbol of how we can overcome all of our obstacles with God's love working though our community. And in doing so, you will be supporting young women & men in overcoming their obstacles of trauma, abuse and addictions and helping put the homeless in our community on a path to restoration.

The first 3 finishers in adults (20yr+) and youth (<20yr) racing in each category (5k, 10k, Obstacle 5k, Obstacle 10k) will be awarded and recognized at closing ceremonies.
The path is on and off road and is considered a trail run. Follow this link [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Tya84uFvp-t_I73vMHXBhA4RkIffSjGe/view?usp=sharing] for a printable map & reminders. Path is accessible by foot year-round and is mowed starting in February. Join us for Path Days on the second Saturday of the month, Jan-Apr, at 9:30am when well drive the path with ATVs.

Workout gloves will help you on the pressure wall and monkey bars. Teammates can also help you complete an obstacle. You can skip an obstacle for 20 burpees [https://youtube.com/shorts/zlYA1SENYG4?si=imDMoZg2Ns2IGDEk]. If you can do neither, surrender your bracelet to the obstacle volunteer. You can still complete the race but just will be unable to receive an award. Teams must complete the race and finish together--no one left behind.
