Get ready for the 10th Annual HERO 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, November 2, 2025, held at the scenic Bergen Community College in Paramus, Bergen. This exciting event starts at 8:30 AM and invites participants of all ages to support our veterans while enjoying a beautiful course. The HERO 5K features both overall and age group awards, with the first 300 registrants receiving a special event shirt. Runners will also have the chance to earn a unique HERO 5K pint glass for their efforts!
In addition to the 5K, the event includes the Robert Dyer Kids 1K Fun Run, perfect for children under 7 years old. Each kid will receive a customizable cape and a finisher's medal, making it a memorable experience for the little ones. With awards for the top three male and female finishers across various age groups, there’s something for everyone. Early packet pick-up will be available the Friday before the race, and on race day, the festivities begin early with check-in from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM. Join us for a fantastic day of community spirit, fun, and fitness, all while supporting a great cause!

Come out November 2nd to support our Veterans on our scenic course. Strollers welcome, overall and age group awards.
First 300 people to register for the HERO 5K will get a shirt
Overall AND Age group award winners will receive a HERO 5k pint glass! Picture below
The Robert Dyer Kids 1K fun run is back! All kids under 7 years old can sign up for this 1k loop around the parking lot. Ending at our official finish line. All kids that register get a cape they can customize and a finishers medal!
All the proceeds go to support the Veterans of Bergen Community College.
Awards for overall top 3 male and female. Male and Female Age group awards (top 3): 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 plus

Race Morning:
Please enter the college (400 Paramus Road Paramus NJ) from Paramus Road. You will go straight through the circle and park on the top of parking lot A. There will be signs for you to follow.
Once parked please make your way over to the Buhler Challenger Science Center (Parking Lot C). This is where our runners village is. We will have volunteers directing you over to our village.
Runner Check in is from 730am 830am. We will have a bag drop available.
The Kids 1 K will start at 930am. Please note that check in for the 1K will be next to the bounce house (the kids village) Kids Village will open at 730am

This event is open to kids 7 years old and younger. The course is a simple loop around the parking lot (less than 1K) The the kids get to run across the finish line and get a finishers medal. All the kids that register will also get a cape they can personalize. Kids are encouraged to dress as their favorite super hero to honor our Veterans. -

Can't make it to campus on race morning? Still want to support our veterans? Sign up for our virtual event! Upload your results anytime on November 3rd. No age group awards will be given for this event. Everyone that registers and post result will receive a race shirt in the mail. Please allow 1-2 weeks for shipping.
