Join us for the 11th Annual Tampa YMCA Turkey Gobble 5K & 1 Mile on Sunday, November 23, 2025, in the vibrant heart of Tampa, Florida! This beloved Thanksgiving morning race has become a cherished tradition for families, offering a fun and festive way to kick off the holiday season. Participants can choose between a 1 Mile Fun Run starting at 8 AM or a 5K Run/Walk beginning at 7 AM, all while enjoying the scenic route starting and ending at the iconic Amalie Arena. For those who prefer to run from home, a virtual 5K option is also available!
Bring the whole family along, as strollers are welcome, and children in strollers can join the fun without needing to register. Plus, your participation in this uplifting event helps support vital community programs, including the Kids Thrivers Club for youth cancer survivors and the Pedaling for Parkinson's program. By taking part in the Turkey Gobble, you’re not only celebrating Thanksgiving but also contributing to the health and well-being of our community. Organiser's Description
An out-and-back Thanksgiving morning race tradition for the whole family! Held on Thursday, November 27th. We start and end at Amalie Arena located at 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa, FL 33602. Your choice of 1 MILE FUN RUN WHICH STARTS AT 8AM,5K RUN/ WALK WHICH STARTS AT 7AM, or a virtual 5k from anywhere! Limited dogs welcome, please register appropriately. Strollers welcomed- please plan to line up in the back. Children in strollers do not need to be registered for the race, but they must stay in the stroller while on the course and they will not receive a race shirt or swag. If requesting a ladies size t-shirt, please keep in mind they run really small and order a size up.
The Y is proud to say that the Tampa YMCA Turkey Gobble covers 100% of the cost of our youth cancer survivor program: _Kids Thrivers Club_. The free 12-week programs offers children affected by cancer a safe, supportive environment to participate in physical and social activities focused on strengthening the whole person. While participating in the program, participants and their household family members receive a membership to the Tampa YMCA, helping the whole family regain their health. Additionally, it covers 100% of the cost of our Pedaling for Parkinson's program, helping those affected by Parkinson's and their caregivers to have a community of support while participants see a reduction in symptoms. With your participation, the Tampa YMCA Turkey Gobble also supports several other programs to improve the health of our community, including: the Diabetes Prevention Program, Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program, Healthy Steps for Older Adults, Enhance Fitness and so much more!

Can't join us in person at the 11th Annual Tampa YMCA Turkey Gobble? Why not, run/walk it virtually?! Registrants that sign up for the Virtual Run option will choose their own start line: a treadmill, neighborhood street, or another race and run/walk the distance of your choice: 1 Mile or 5K. Emailing finish times is NOT required and you will not show up at the start line for this event! Each registrant will receive a finisher medal, race bib, and a race shirt. In order to get your shirt and medal, you will need to pickup your packet at one of our pre-race packet pickups
