Luc's Run is held annually each spring in historic Tuolumne, California and Virtually Anywhere in the World. Luc's Run is known as one of the premier races in the county. We are looking at welcoming our local 10K, 2-mile, and Kids Run (ages 10 & under) back to Tuolumne, CA in 2023! And of course welcoming our supporters around the globe through our virtual run where hundreds of enthusiasts from around the world walk and run in support of Lucs legacy on their own turf with a virtual 1/2 marathon, 10K, 2-mile, and Kids Run (ages 10 & under). Sign up for two events and save 5%, sign up for all three and save 15%!
On January 28, 2013, Luc, a United States Air Force pilot was on a training mission over the Adriatic Sea off the coast of Italy. During the sortie, Luc was forced to eject from his F-16 and did not survive the ejection. Luc is survived by family and friends who continue his Legacy through the Major Lucas Gruenther Legacy Foundation.
Major Lucas Gruenther was an incredible human being. He was an outstanding F-16 fighter pilot, community role model, and a true humanitarian. He lived his life to the fullest and never took a single day for granted. Luc is remembered for the way he treated people with wisdom and kindness and was a genuine human being who made a tremendous positive impact.
All proceeds from this race go to the Major Lucas Gruenther Legacy Foundation, an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The purpose of the Major Lucas Gruenther Legacy Foundation is to bestow scholarships to Americans for the advancement of educational goals and self development.

Packet Pickup is best on Friday May 17th at Tuolumne Veteran's Memorial Hall from 3:00pm to 6:00 pm. The 10K race begins at Tuolumne Veteran's Memorial Hall in beautiful Tuolumne, CA. The course winds through the streets of Tuolumne, a historic logging town that was an important part of Californias modern development. After touring through Tuolumne, the course heads out for an out-n-back segment on Apple Colony Road that is filled with peaceful countryside views. On the return trip, you enter back into the edge of town before winding along a short section of hard-packed dirt roads on the Westside property, which belongs to the Tuolumne Band of Mi-Wuk Indians. After a short stint on dirt roads, youll head to the finish line back at Tuolumne Veterans Memorial Hall. The 10K course is best described as rolling with a few moderately steep, but short hills. This course is guaranteed to challenge you! There are 3 aid stations on the 10K course. If you decide to pass up on the treats at the aid stations, youll find more at the runners replenishment table after crossing the finish line! This years event includes chip timing system for rock-solid timing results. And there are no time limits on the course. Walkers and runners are equally welcome at this event! Each participant will receive a Race Shirt and an official Finisher's Medal. Overall awards and age-group awards will be presented after each event. Packet Pickup is best on Friday May 17th at Tuolumne Veteran's Memorial Hall from 3:00pm to 6:00 pm. The 2-mile race begins and ends at Tuolumne Veteran's Memorial Hall in beautiful Tuolumne, CA. The all-road course winds through the streets of Tuolumne, a historic logging town that was an important part of Californias modern development. The 2-mile race starts at the same time as the 10K race. Both races follow the same course for the first 1.6 miles and then the courses split. As the 10K runners head out on Apple Colony Road, you will finish your tour through Tuolumne before arriving at the finish line at Tuolumne Veterans Memorial Hall. The 2-mile course has a few moderately steep, but short hills. Overall, the course has less elevation change than the 10K course. It is a fun course for runners and walkers alike! There will be one aid station on the 2-mile course. If you decide to pass up on the treats at the aid station, youll find more at the runners replenishment table after crossing the finish line! Packet Pickup is best on Friday May 17th at Tuolumne Veteran's Memorial Hall from 3:00pm to 6:00 pm. The Kids Run is a short, fun race designed for kids ages 10 and under. The Kids Run starts one half hour before the 10K/2-mile race so there is plenty of time for parents to cheer on their kids before participating in their own 2-mile or 10K race. The Kids course circles West Side Memorial Park. The course is 1/4 mile long and will be lined with plenty of safety volunteers to ensure everyone stays on course! Parents are welcome to chaperone their child or push them along in a stroller. Every child will receive a Race Shirt and an official Finishers medal. Overall awards will also be presented after the race. All proceeds from this all-volunteer non-profit event will go towards scholarships given out by the Major Lucas Gruenther Legacy Foundation.
