Get ready for an exciting day of fitness and fun at the 17th Annual Run The D.O.G. St. 5K, happening on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the picturesque city of Williamsburg, Virginia! This vibrant event promotes a "Healthy Heart, Healthy Mind" ethos and is part of the Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix and the Hampton Roads Super Grand Prix. The USATF Certified 5K race offers participants a chance to enjoy the scenic beauty of Williamsburg and historic Colonial Williamsburg as they race towards the finish line on the iconic Duke of Gloucester Street.
Kick off the festivities with early packet pickup on Friday, April 17, from noon to 6 PM at Colonial Sports. Race day begins bright and early at 6:30 AM with the Two Shilling Mile starting at 7:00 AM, followed by the 5K Run/Run Walk/Competitive Walk at 7:30 AM. Runners of all ages, from kids to seasoned athletes, are welcome to participate, with age group awards available for everyone from 8 and under to 80 and over. * Two Shilling Mile begins at 7:00 AM at the Finish Line on Duke of Gloucester St.
* 5K Run/Run Walk/Competitive Walk Begins at 7:30 AM
START: The race starts on Prince George St. (the START line is in front of Nassau St.) runs through Williamsburg and Colonial Williamsburg ending on Duke of Gloucester St. Runners will pass the Governor's Palace and the Colonial Capitol building before finishing the final 800 meters on the most famous street in America, the Duke of Gloucester Street.
Age groups begin at 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15, 16-19, then 5 year increments extending to 80 and over.
FINISH: The Finish is on Duke of Gloucester St. (D.O.G. St.) just before Nassau St.
AWARDS: Top three overall men and women receive Cash award of $200 1st Place, $100 2nd Place, $50 3rd Place plus a custom medal. Top three finishers in each age group receive a custom medal. 1st Place Male and Female Masters receive a cash award of $50.00. Top three male and female masters (age 40+) receive a custom medal. 1st Place Male and Female walker receive a cash award of $50.00. Top three male and female walkers receive a custom medal. Three Team awards: Fastest Team, Largest Team and Largest Donation. Winning teams receive custom plaque. Two Shilling Mile and 5K finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Virtual participants are not eligible to win any awards. This event is not transferable. Virtual participants are eligible for the Triple Crown, but must run or walk the certified Run the D.O.G. St. course. Virtual participants cannot use results from another 5K race! SAWG Bags can be shipped for a $9.00 fee.
