Join us for the 2024 NCS Take the Hill 5K & Kids Fun Run, taking place virtually from September 28 to October 13, 2024! Originally set to be a lively in-person event in Roanoke, this year's race has transitioned to a virtual format due to Hurricane Helene. Participants can now choose to run or walk the 5K or join the Kids Fun Run at a time and location that suits them best.
We encourage all registered participants to upload their results by the end of the day on October 13. While we regret the change, we believe this virtual race is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to stay active and engaged safely. Plus, your participation supports the Parents Association (NCSPA), making your efforts even more meaningful. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility during these challenges, and we look forward to a return to in-person racing next year!

We regret to inform you that due to Hurricane Helene, our upcoming timed 5K race, kids fun run, and untimed 5K race have been changed to virtual events. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
VIRTUAL RACE DETAILS
All registered participants will now complete their races virtually. This means you can run or walk your chosen distance at a time and location that is safe and convenient for you. You can upload your results to this website. ALL RESULTS MUST BE ENTERED BY END OF DAY OCTOBER 13
RESCHEDULING EFFORTS
We explored various options to reschedule the in-person events. However, due to the school's athletic calendar, SATs, exams, and other campus activities, we were unable to secure an alternate date. We believe this virtual format is the best solution given the circumstances.
LOOKING AHEAD
We sincerely hope to return to an in-person event next year. Your participation and understanding during this time are greatly appreciated.Important

2024 Ncs Take the Hill Kids Fun Run

CLOSEDThe Kids Fun Run is an untimed 0.8-mile event. All finishers will get a participation medal but there is no medal ceremony since it is an untimed event. The first three kids to cross the finish line will be recognized. An NCS Cross-Country Runner will lead the kids, while other NCS Cross-Country Runners will stay at the back to ensure no children are left behind. Parents are also welcome to run or walk with their children during the event. -

CLOSEDThe '5K Run' is a competitive cross-country 5K on one of this area's toughest courses, the NCS Ridgeline Course. It is a chip-timed event timed by Run Roanoke. Medals will be presented to the overall top 3 male and female winners, the first male and female masters (40 & older), and to the top three in each age group for both male and females. Age groups will be as follows: 9 & Under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ -
