Get ready for a festive and fun-filled morning at the 2024 Willard Christmas 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024, in beautiful Willard, Huron! This exciting event takes place right after the city's annual Christmas Parade, making it the perfect way to keep the holiday spirit alive. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in a timed 5K run or walk, with all proceeds going towards the construction of a new shelter at the city park, honoring beloved local resident and coach Dom Fratta.
In addition to the 5K, kids aged 12 and under can join in the fun with the Kids 1-Mile Holiday Hustle, featuring age categories of 9-12 and 8 and under. The event encourages festive attire, so feel free to don your favorite Christmas-themed costume! Medals will be awarded to the top three overall male and female winners, as well as the top finishers across various age categories. Join us in supporting this wonderful community project while enjoying a spirited day of running, walking, and holiday cheer!

Organiser's Description
Join us in Willard for a 5K Christmas Run/Walk on Saturday, 11/23/24, the morning after the city's Christmas Parade! Funds are currently being raised for replace the current shelter near the pickleball courts and baseball fields at city park, and ALL proceeds of this event will directly benefit this project. The pavilion will be constructed in honor of long-time resident of Willard and coach Dom Fratta. It is being built to last a very long time, offering a shelter and fantastic place to watch games and hang out while playing pickleball at the park. But it can't happen without the support of our community and local businesses!
While it's totally optional, we encourage participants to dress up in their favorite Christmas-themed wardrobe or costume for this fun event! The morning will start with our timed 5K event, which will be followed by a Kids 1-Mile Holiday Hustle at the completion of the 5K, open to kids 12 and under, divided into categories of 9-12 and 8 and under.
Medals will be given to the Top 3 Overall Male and Female winners and also the Top 3 Male and Female finishers of the following categories. Additional categories might be added later, depending on the number of registrations for the race: Under 15, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
