Get ready for a day of fun and fitness at the 13th Annual Jamestown Rotary 5K Chicken Run and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, May 24, 2025! This exciting event takes place at the Fentress County Fairgrounds in Jamestown, and it promises to be a fantastic experience for participants of all ages. The 5K race kicks off at 7:00 AM, providing an excellent opportunity for runners and walkers alike to challenge themselves on a scenic route while supporting a great cause.
Registration is just $20 for early sign-ups until May 11, 2025, and families can enjoy a discount when registering four or more participants. The course for the 5K runs approximately 3.2 miles, starting and finishing at the Fairgrounds Main Gate, while the 1 Mile Fun Run is perfect for younger participants and those looking for a shorter distance. With awards for the overall best male and female times, as well as age category winners, there’s plenty of motivation to lace up those running shoes! **ALL PARTICIPANTS UNDER THE AGE OF 12 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT DURING THE RACE.
AWARDS:
AWARDS WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE OVERALL BEST TIME MALE AND FEMALE RUNNERS AND TO THE TOP MALE AND FEMALE RUNNERS IN EACH AGE CATEGORY. AWARDS CEREMONY WILL BE IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE RACE. ALL CHILDREN REGISTERED UNDER AGE OF 10 WILL RECEIVE A PARTICIPATION AWARD.
NOTE: PARTICIPANTS IN THE 1 MILE FUN RUN WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR TOP AWARDS.
AGE DIVISIONS:
-1 MILE FUN RUN: ANY AGE
-5K WALK/RUN: 10-15, 16-20, 21-25, 26-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, 51-59, 60-70, 71+
Race Start/Finish:
Course is 5K (3.2Miles). Race begins and ends at Fairgrounds Main Gate. From Main gate turn left & go down Fairgrounds Rd, turns right onto West Cove Rd. At the end of West Cove Rd. turn right onto Hwy 127 South. Continue South back to Fairgrounds Rd (across from SmartBank) and return to Fairgrounds Main Gate. Water will be available at midpoint and at end of race. Water and snacks will be available after the race.
1 Mile Fun Run:
Route for 1 Mile Fun Run will start at Fairgrounds Main Gate, go to intersection of Fairgrounds Road and West Cove Road and then back to Fairgrounds Main Gate. Water and snacks will be available at end of race.
