Organiser's Description

Back for its second year, the Montana Warrior Ruck and Team Challenge is meant to test both your physical and mental endurance. In the Mountains of Central Montana, Great Divide Ski Area is the setting for Impact Montanans most sought after physical fitness challenge. Grab your packs, your camping gear, and your friends and family for a weekend of fun and fitness.

Events kick off on Friday June 27th, at 6PM with food, music, and other fun activities.

TEAM CHALLENGE EVENTS
Teams of 4 will enter into either the 12 or 24 hour category and embark on a relay-style journey, carrying a 35# (males) or 25# (females) rucksack on a 1 mile loop on the mountain, while enduring physical and mental agility exercises throughout the event. Teams will build their own strategy to help them complete the challenges*, manage their energy, and compete for the highest number of course loops and the right to take home the top event prizes (top 3 finishing teams in the 24 hour event only will be awarded prizes). If two (or more) individuals from the same team are on the course at the same time (both must be carrying the appropriately weighted rucks) there will only be loop credit for one team.

The team with the most completed loops in the 24 hour event will also take home the coveted Montana Warrior Challenge Guidon.

*The team challenges list (in no particular order) includes, but may not be limited to: team tractor tire flips; team kettlebell swings; team sandbag military presses; team caterpillar pushups; team burpees; team litter carry exercise; and undisclosed mental agility games. Teams will decide ahead of the start time how they want to complete the list of challenges based on the parameters sent to the captain prior to the event, and they will turn that list in to the ops center prior to their designated event start time. All members of each team will complete the first and the last loop together as a team; however, only one team member needs to be carrying the appropriately weighted rucksack while on the course (not while doing the physical or mental agility challenges). All rucksacks will be weighed before the event begins and throughout the event to ensure weight integrity.

All teams participating in the 12 or 24 hour events will have access to special event nutrition, fuel to assist with energy management, Impact Montana Service Partners aiding in energy management and recovery, and the teams who meet the minimum event loop threshold (see below) will receive additional event commemoration swag.
