Join us for the 2025 SHAY 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, November 29th, 2025, in the vibrant city of Delano, Kern! This uplifting event honors the memory of Shaylyn Anela Pinoliar and supports the mission of Spreading Help Around You, a dedicated non-profit organization committed to helping families in need and promoting pedestrian safety awareness. Participants can choose to run or walk a scenic 5K route, and every registrant will receive an event t-shirt and a custom finisher's medal, making this a memorable experience for all.
The day kicks off bright and early with late packet pickup starting at 8:00 AM, followed by the official 5K start at 9:00 AM. Compete for age group awards and a chance to win the largest group award, with categories for ages 12 and under, 13 to 17, and 18 and up. Plus, children 12 and under can take advantage of a special registration rate! The event promises to be a day filled with community spirit, camaraderie, and celebration of life, as we come together to remember Shay and make a difference. Organiser's Description
Spreading Help Around You is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 2014 in honor of Shaylyn Anela Pinoliar, who tragically passed away on November 14, 2012. Our mission is to help and support families who have lost a loved one, educate them on the importance of being prepared during such a time of loss, and provide active service to the community. As well as promote Pedestrian Safety Awareness. This year we proudly launched the SHAY Scholarship Program, making an exciting new chapter in our commitment to supporting education and empowering future leaders.
Each year, since Shaylyns passing, family, friends, and community members gather to honor her memory with an Annual 5k Run/Walk on Thanksgiving morning. Last year, we changed the event to be held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It was a great success, and we look forward to continuing the tradition this year to honor her memory.
