Join us for the uplifting 2025 SHAY 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in Delano, Kern! This heartwarming event honors the memory of Shaylyn Anela Pinoliar, promoting community spirit and pedestrian safety awareness while supporting families in need. Lace up your running shoes to take part in this 5K challenge, where participants of all ages can walk or run while enjoying a day filled with camaraderie and support. The first 100 participants will receive a custom finisher's medal, and every participant will walk away with an event t-shirt to commemorate their achievement.
Make sure to join us at La Vina Middle School, located at 1331 Browning Rd. in Delano, for a fun-filled morning. Packet pickup will take place the day before the event, on Friday, November 28, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Delano Chamber of Commerce. On race day, registration begins at 8:00 AM, with the 5K starting promptly at 9:00 AM. Organiser's Description
Spreading Help Around You is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 2014 in honor of Shaylyn Anela Pinoliar, who tragically passed away on November 14, 2012. Our mission is to help and support families who have lost a loved one, educate them on the importance of being prepared during such a time of loss, and provide active service to the community. As well as promoting Pedestrian Safety Awareness. This year, we proudly launched the SHAY Scholarship Program, marking an exciting new chapter in our commitment to supporting education and empowering future leaders.
Each year, since Shaylyns passing, family, friends, and community members gather to honor her memory with an Annual 5k Run/Walk on Thanksgiving morning. Last year, we moved the event to Saturday after Thanksgiving. It was a great success, and we look forward to continuing the tradition this year to honor her memory.
