This exciting event celebrates the 58th anniversary of the UNC Student Health Action Coalition (SHAC) Clinic, the nation's oldest student-run clinic dedicated to serving medically underserved populations. The race kicks off at 7:30 AM at the UNC Campus Y Courtyard, located at 180 E Cameron Ave. With a vibrant atmosphere and the support of over 150 participants last year, the SHAC 5K is not just a race; it's a chance to give back, as 100% of the proceeds will directly fund SHAC's free health services for uninsured and underinsured neighbors in the Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham areas.
Whether you're a seasoned runner or a casual walker, the 5K offers a great opportunity to engage with the community while promoting health and wellness. UNCs SHAC (Student Health Action Coalition) Clinic is the oldest student-run clinic in the nation, helping medically underserved populations in Chapel Hill and surrounding areas. Join us in celebrating the SHACs 58th anniversary at the SHAC 5K & Health Fair on Saturday, October 11th!
Last year, we had over 150 runners and walkers registered to support UNC's SHAC Clinic and so many amazing sponsors!
100% of the proceeds will go towards SHACs free health services for our uninsured and underinsured neighbors in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham. Whether you sign up for the 5K or donate - your help and support is greatly appreciated!

The 5K starts and finishes at 7:30 am at the UNC Campus Y Courtyard located at 180 E Cameron Ave in Chapel Hill. Free parking is available anywhere on campus. Parking is also available on Franklin Street.

The entry fee is $25 if registered by September 15th. Beginning September 16th, the entry fee will increase to $30 up to and including race day. The entry fee includes a t-shirt with sizes guaranteed to all those registered by September 15th. After that date the shirts will be given out as available.
Pre-registered entrants can pick up their race packets and late entrants can register beginning at 7 am on race day.
Prizes will be given to the overall first, second, and third place male and female finishers, as well as to the top non-binary finisher. Prizes will also be awarded to the top male, female, and non-binary finisher in each of the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.
