The 1 Mile race kicks off at 8:00 AM, followed by the 8k at 8:30 AM, ensuring plenty of time to enjoy the festivities without conflict from the Mardi Gras parade on the stunning Ocean Springs beach.
This event not only offers a chance to run but also a chance to win! With adult prize money for the 1 Mile—$75 for first place male and female, $50 for second, and $25 for third—there's plenty of incentive to put your best foot forward. Runners can participate solo or as a Valentine's team in the 8k, pairing up for additional awards. Registration is affordable, with prices starting at $20 for Gulf Coast Running Club members and $22 for non-members, plus a special $15 rate for children 12 and under. "Race walking requires the competitor to maintain contact with the ground at all times and requires the leading leg to be straightened as the foot makes contact with the ground. It must remain straightened until the leg passes under the body." -
