This exhilarating event offers participants a chance to either challenge themselves with a flat and fast 12K run (7.46 miles) or enjoy a leisurely 6K walk (3.73 miles) along the scenic Longleaf Trace. Both races begin just east of Jackson Pavilion, making it a perfect gathering spot for friends and family.
New this year, participants can purchase matching sweatpants and opt for a discounted race registration if they prefer not to receive a race sweatshirt. With awards for various age categories and an array of post-race festivities—including a delicious spread of traditional New Year's Day foods—this event is sure to be a highlight of the season! Start the NEW YEAR off on the right foot and join the Pine Belt Pacers for a cool 12K (7.46 miles) Run or 6K (3.73 miles) Walk! What a great way to Run (or Walk) into the New Year!
NEW TO THE RACE THIS YEAR: (1) Matching Sweatpants that can be purchased separately. All the details are below. AND (2) A New Discounted Race Registration Option. If race sweatshirts are not your thing, then we have a discounted race registration option for you! This discounted rate will only be available until December 18, 2024.
COURSE: Both courses are flat and fast, out and back on the Longleaf Trace. Both races start just East of Jackson Pavilion. The 12K Run will turn around just west of Clyde Depot, while the 6K Walk will turn around just west of Lake Thoreau Road!
AID-STATIONS: There will be 2 aid stations on the course. The first will be at the 6K Walk turnaround, and the second will be at the 12K Run turnaround.

12K RUN AWARDS: 1st Male and Female, Overall, Master, and Grandmaster. Age Group awards: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Male and Female ages 0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80+.
6K WALK AWARDS: Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female.
EARLY PACKET PICKUP: Tuesday, December 31, Time: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Breland Community Center located adjacent to the Jackson Station on the Longleaf Trace.
