Get ready for an exciting and active experience at the 2025 WWU Viking 5K, taking place from September 8th to September 21st in the beautiful city of Bellingham, Whatcom! This unique event invites participants to get moving in their favorite way—whether that's running, walking, swimming, biking, hiking, crawling, kayaking, or more. Join the Western community in completing a fun 5K (3.1 miles) during this two-week window, all while supporting the WWU Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Once you register, you'll receive a custom race bib to print at home, and you can capture the moment by taking a photo with your bib and sharing it with the community. All registrants will also receive an exclusive 2025 Viking 5K t-shirt, mailed after the event! Plus, there are exciting opportunities to win prizes through giveaways for those who submit their results or share their bib photos. Don't miss out on this fantastic chance to promote an active lifestyle, support student scholarships, and enjoy some friendly competition!

Join the Western community for a fun, active opportunity to support the WWU Alumni Scholarship Fund, and win prizes!
You will have 2 weeks, between September 8th - September 21st to complete 5 kilometres (3.1 miles), in any location and format you choose! Get started:
1. Register. You will receive a custom race bib to print out at home! Take a picture with your bib, and email it to [email protected] with your name and where you finished your 5K.
All registrants will receive an exclusive 2025 Viking 5K t-shirt!! THE T-SHIRT WILL BE MAILED AFTER SEPTEMBER 22ND.
2. Invite friends to join you, share this invitation, within and beyond the Western community!
3. Complete your race. Submit your results by email or online, with or without a time included.
4. WIN! There are 2 opportunities to win a prize giveaway. Enter yourself in one or both! All participants who upload their results via the RunSignUp platform will be entered into a random drawing for a giveaway! All participants who submit a photo to [email protected] of them with their bib including their name and location they completed their 5K will also be entered into a random drawing for giveaway!
Help raise support for Student Scholarships. Invite others to support the Fund. 100% of every dollar raised through your registration fee and fundraising will go to a Scholarship Fund!
