After the race, stick around for the fantastic Back the Blue BBQ & Festival, featuring delicious BBQ plates, a Kids Zone, a Car Show, and a variety of vendors—all taking place at the brand new Jimmy Burke Activity Center! With awards for overall winners and age group champions, exciting post-race refreshments, and a lively atmosphere, this is an event you won’t want to miss. Organiser's Description
Join the Deer Park and La Porte, Texas communities for the 6th annual 5K. Whether you're running, walking, or crawling, come start the day with this 5k Fun Run before heading inside for the main Back the Blue BBQ & Festival! We are so excited for this year being held at the NEW Jimmy Burke Activity Center. This annual event aims to bring together local officers with their community, and provide support for the men & women in blue. Wear Blue!
You do not have to be law enforcement to participate! (current law enforcement officer's: please email us ahead of time for your discount code).
Registrations after Sept. 28th are first come first serve sign-ups in regards to getting a race t-shirt.

Thursday October 15th, 3pm-7pm at the Jimmy Burke Activity Center
Friday, October 16th, 3pm-7pm at the Jimmy Burke
_*IF YOU PLAN TO PICK UP A PACKET FOR ANOTHER RUNNER, YOU MUST KNOW THE EXACT SPELLING AND NAME THEY USED TO SIGN UP, AND YOU NEED TO NOTIFY THEM IMMEDIATELY THAT YOU PICKED UP THEIR PACKET TO AVOID OUR TEAM CONFUSION._

PARKING ON SATURDAY:
Arrive with plenty of time before the run and except traffic delays. Please fill up the TechStar (802 W 13th) parking lot first, which is across 13th St, on the other side of the street from the Jimmy Burke. After TechStar is full, you can park at the Jimmy Burke Activity Center. Be aware some parking spots may be blocked off due to BBQ cook teams and a Car Show. The Start/Finish line will be on the drive located in front of the entrance of the Ella Dog Park.

NATIONAL ANTHEM AT 8:20am
FUN RUN STARTS AT 8:30am
All participants must begin the fun run by 8:45am
_Post-fun run waters & snacks provided by UPS Industrial Services._

AWARDS: approximately 9:30am inside the Jimmy Burke building (in that nice A/C!)
-Overall 1st Place Male and 1st Place Female (cannot double dip and also win your age group)
-Age Group Winners: given to first place Male and Female of each group: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.
