Join us for the 4th Annual Geo Foundation 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in beautiful Bloomfield, Essex! The day kicks off bright and early with registration at 8 AM, followed by a welcoming ceremony at 8:50 AM and the race start at 9 AM. Runners will tackle a scenic 5K route, which consists of three laps around the park, while walkers enjoy a single lap.
Participants can look forward to a festive atmosphere with food and refreshments available, including delicious bagels, bananas, oranges, and post-race acai bowls. Awards will be presented across multiple age categories for both male and female participants, ensuring everyone has a chance to shine. All proceeds from this event support vital programs like scholarships for local high school students and assistance for families whose children are battling cancer. 8am Registration. 8:50am Welcome Ceremony. 9am Race Start.
Closing Ceremony at around 9:45am.
We are currently working on a USATF sanction on our event. Please stay tuned for an update on our status.
5K start and finish will be accurately marked and timed - which is roughly three laps around the park. Walkers will do one lap, runners will do all three.
Awards for female and male, both groups:
62+ (1st - 2nd - 3rd)
51-61 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)
40-50 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)
29-39 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)
22-28 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)
17-21 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)
14-16 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)
11-13 (1st - 2nd - 3rd)
+ Special Awards for all participants 10 and Under
We will have runners start their race first, followed by walkers. You have a choice to not be timed while registering, if you'd prefer to not be timed.
We will have food and refreshments available at both the beginning and end of the event, including:
* Bagels
* Bananas
* Oranges
* Acai bowls (post-race)

The Geo Foundation honors George "Geo" Batikha and the many youth and young adults who have been diagnosed with cancer. All proceeds will go towards our two programs:
* Community Fund: Scholarships awarded across 5 high schools - Bloomfield, Glen Ridge, Montclair, and Wayne Hills & Valley. Each year, we bring these scholars together for lunches and dinners to learn from each other and develop alongside one another.
* Family Assistance Fund: Funding provided to families who have a child going through cancer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude helps every youth patient with treatment, housing, and food along with one parent at no cost.
