Join us for our 21st Annual HEAT Kid's Triathlon on Saturday August 8, 2026 at 7 am. There are two race divisions. Juniors: ages 6-10 and Seniors: ages 11-15. The 6-10 year olds will swim a 50 yard pool swim, bike 2 miles, and run 1 mile. The 11-15 years olds (Seniors) will swim a 100 yard pool swim, bike 4 miles, and run 2 miles.
*USAT (USA Triathlon) rules require that the age that is used is the age as of 12/31 of the race year. So, make sure you are clear if you have a 10 year old, for example that will be 11 before the end of the year that they are required to race in the Senior age troup.
USAT also has rules about the bike - no training wheels are allowed.

The race starts and finishes at the Sumner County YMCA at 102 Bluegrass Commons Blvd in Hendersonville, TN. The Swim will be in the YMCA's outdoor 25 yard pool. The Bike route winds through a beautiful nearby residential neighborhood. The Run route for the 6-10 year age group passes through a nearby church parking lot whereas the 11-15 year athletes will run through a nearby residential neighborhood. Race routes are well staffed with experienced volunteers to keep athletes safe. Please note that the bike course has hills and turns, so please ensure your athlete has the appropriate bike handling skills. We will also be offering a pre-race training clinic to preview the course (information will be provided closer to the time). Friday night packet pickup is at the YMCA in Hendersonville, TN 37075. Friday night packet pickup is STRONGLY recommended to make Saturday morning easier on your athlete. Packet pickup on Friday August 8th will be from 4:30pm - 6:30pm CT. We will also offer a race morning packet pickup at the race location starting at 5:30am to 6:00am. On race day, please plan to arrive at the Sumner County YMCA by 5:30am to allow enough time for Timing chip pick-up/Body Marking and transition set-up. Race time is 7:00am, but transition closes at 6:15am. Only official course volunteers are permitted in transition and on the course during the race. This training clinic takes place at the YMCA. Meet at the back pavillion of the YMCA. Please have athletes come in their swim suit and bring the following: goggles, towel, (swim cap optional), bike, helmet, running shoes, socks (optional). If they wish to throw on shorts / shirt for the bike and run portion please bring those. We will split up by Junior vs. Senior age groups and each complete a swim, bike and abbreviated run. Athletes will receive instruction and tips for race day. Parents are welcome to join on the bike course with a bike and helmet and on the run course. Parents are not permitted for the swim portion
