Join us for the 22nd Annual SGT Nutter 5K on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in the picturesque town of Sea Girt, Monmouth, New Jersey! This exciting event invites participants to either walk or run the scenic 5K course, supporting a worthy cause while enjoying a day of fitness and community spirit. Check-in begins at 8:00 AM, so arrive early to hydrate, warm up, and take advantage of the Alliance Orthopedic PT tent for stretching assistance.
The festivities kick off with an introductory ceremony at 9:10 AM, leading up to the official race start at 9:30 AM. Young athletes can look forward to their moment in the spotlight with a Kids Race at 10:30 AM, featuring a 200-meter dash for ages 6 to 9 and a 1/2 mile (800 meters) for ages 10 to 13. All proceeds from this event will go directly to support Specialist Gregory Mitchell, who is recovering from a serious car accident. By participating, donating, or becoming a sponsor, you honor the legacy of SGT Samuel Nutter and help our troops and their families during challenging times. Don’t miss out on this uplifting

SPECIALIST GREGORY MITCHELL OF BRAVO TROOP IN THE 102ND CALVARY UNIT HAS BEEN SELECTED AS THE SGT NUTTER RUN 2026 BENEFICIARY!
ON SATURDAY, JUNE 20, 2026, Class 69 of the New Jersey Army National Guard Officer Candidate School (NJOCS) in Sea Girt, NJ will host the 22nd Annual Sergeant Nutter 5K Run.
CHECK-IN BEGINS AT 8:00 AM, where participants can pick up their shirts, bibs and chips. COME EARLY TO HYDRATE AND WARM-UP! WE HAVE AN ALLIANCE ORTHOPEDIC PT TENT TO ASSIST RUNNERS IN STRETCHING! PLENTY OF PARKING ON PREMISES; BRING ID TO ENTER BASE. THERE WILL BE SIGNAGE TO IDENTIFY STARTING LINE ON CAMP DRIVE!
The INTRODUCTORY CEREMONY WILL START AT 9:10 AM, followed by the OFFICIAL RACE START AT 9:30 AM.
The KIDS RACE WILL TAKE PLACE AT 10:30 AM, giving our youngest runners their big moment.
THE CLOSING CEREMONY WILL BEGIN AT 11:00 AM to wrap up the event, WHERE MEDALS WILL BE AWARDED!
This event is organized by the SGT Sam Nutter Organization Inc (SSNO) in memory of the late SGT Samuel Nutter, to benefit the family of a NJ National Guard service member. We are asking for your help in aiding our Soldiers and their families in their time of need. THIS YEAR'S BENEFICIARY WILL BE SPECIALIST GREGORY MITCHELL, WHO WAS INVOLVED IN A SEVERE CAR ACCIDENT IN AUGUST OF 2025 THAT RESULTED IN MULTIPLE BRAIN BLEEDS AND A TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY (TBI). ALL PROCEEDS, SPONSORSHIPS, AND DONATIONS WILL DIRECTLY SUPPORT HIS CONTINUED RECOVERY.
The 5K race will take place at the Army National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt, New Jersey. This year we are adding Youth run/walk 200 meter for kids ages 6 to 9 and 1/2 mile (800 meters) for ages 10 to 13. We will also be hosting a virtual run to allow all who wish to participate the opportunity to do so! On behalf of the Sergeant Samuel Nutter Organization, WE ENCOURAGE YOUR SUPPORT AND THANK YOU FOR BEING AN INVALUABLE PART OF THIS CAUSE. YOU CAN SUPPORT THIS CAUSE BY RUNNING IN THE RACE, DONATING, OR BECOMING AN EVENT SPONSOR.
