Organiser's Description
Before you settle in for a day of Thanksgiving feasting and football, head outside for a large serving of healthy family fun at the annual Scheels Turkey Trot! This annual running and walking event is a great way to burn calories and give back to the community. Race proceeds ($2 per runner) will go to Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful and Amateur Radio Emergency Services. *************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
RACE DAY:
2 MILE EVENT: NON-TIMED EVENT
. Begins at 8:30am in the Scheels parking lot
. 1 clockwise lap around the Sparks Marina
. Look for start flags at the southwest side of Scheels parking lot.
10K EVENT:
. Begins at 8:30 am in front of Scheels
. Starts line in front of Scheels heading out towards Sparks Blvd.
. Timed event (bib required)
. Results posted at runsignup.com
PARKING: The event will have open parking throughout Legends except in the front where the event will be taking place. Sparks PD will be directing traffic where the roads are closed into Legends. Streets will start closing at 7:30 so we recommend coming early, 1,700+ participants will be trying to get into Legends. Please do not move equipment where parking is not available. This is for the safety of the participants and volunteers.
STROLLERS & DOGS
We encourage the use of jogging strollers along the route of this family-friendly event. However, out of consideration for other participants, dogs will not be allowed on the course (except for registered and licensed service dogs).

PRE - PACKET PICK UP: Friends and family are welcome to pick-up your packet for you! November 25th - November 27th, 9am-9pm at Scheels 2nd floor meeting rooms. WE'RE GOING GREEN: Scheels Turkey Trot is committed to protecting our environment. In an effort to manage our event in a more environmentally conscientious way, we are transitioning to a low waste event this year by reducing the amount of single-use plastic cups at the event. Paper cups made from 100% compostable content will still be offered at the water station. We pledge to incorporate best practices that continue to make our events not only fun, but also more eco-friendly! STROLLERS & DOGS We encourage the use of jogging strollers along the route of this family-friendly event. However, out of consideration for other participants, dogs will not be allowed on the course (except for registered and licensed service dogs). -
