Get ready for the 27th Annual Firecracker 5K, a spectacular event taking place on Saturday, July 5th, 2025, in the charming town of McLeansboro, Hamilton. This exciting run/walk and Kids Fun Run promises a day filled with fun, fitness, and community spirit, all while supporting the Hamilton County Cross Country Team. The main event, the 5K, kicks off at 8:00 A.M., followed by the 5K walk at 8:01 A.M., and the enthusiastic kids will take on their 1/2 mile fun run at 9:15 A.M.
Participants can enjoy a fast and flat course, perfect for runners of all levels, and there are awards for the top finishers in various age groups as well as overall winners. Registration is open until 8:45 A.M. on race day, with fees starting at just $25 for the 5K and $15 for the kids' fun run. Come join us for a memorable day of exercise, camaraderie, and celebration—rain or shine!
