Join us for the 6th Annual Honor and Remember Run on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Velpen, Pike County, Indiana! This inspiring event features both a 5K and a 10K Trail & Ruck Run, designed to honor our military veterans, their families, emergency personnel, and the heroes who lost their lives on 9/11 and in the wars that followed. The day kicks off with check-in at 7:15 AM, followed by opening remarks at 8:00 AM. Runners will hit the trails at 8:15 AM, with awards and refreshments awaiting participants after the races.
This family-friendly event encourages ruck runners to take part in two sets of 22 honor pushups/pullups, raising awareness about the tragic statistic that 22 veterans commit suicide each day. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Police Departments of Huntingburg and Jasper, IN, helping to keep our communities safe while paying tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. On Saturday, August 8, 2026, OFS is hosting its 6th Annual Honor and Remember Run. The family-friendly 5K and 10K Trail & Ruck Run was created in honor of military veterans, their families, emergency personnel, and all who died on 9/11 and the wars following that fateful day. Ruck Runners are encouraged to participate in 2 sets of 22 honor pushups/pullups to help bring awareness to the fact that 22 veterans commit suicide every day. All proceeds will be donated to the Police Departments of Huntingburg, IN and Jasper, IN, furthering their commitment to keep our communities safe and honoring those fallen. Please join us in honoring these brave men and women.
