Join us for the 2nd Annual C.J. Williams Remembrance 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Davis Park in Cairo, Grady County. This uplifting event honors the legacy of Clarence "C.J." Williams, who dedicated his life to mentoring the youth in our community before tragically losing his life in the line of duty. The run/walk not only celebrates his memory but also supports the C.J. Williams Memorial Scholarship, which benefits graduating seniors pursuing careers in law enforcement.
Participants can register onsite starting at 8 A.M. or pre-register by September 8th to secure a T-shirt and avoid the onsite registration fee. The cost is $25 for pre-registration and $35 for onsite registration. Enjoy free refreshments, including water and electrolyte drinks from Cairo Nutrition, while you cheer on the runners. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers, as well as the top three age group winners. To honor his memory and continue his legacy, his mother established the C.J. Williams Memorial Scholarship for graduating seniors in Grady County who wish to pursue a career in law enforcement.
