Flat, certified (NY83004TC) out and back course along the East Shore of Onondaga Lake. Start at Willow Bay; turnaround near the Yacht Club; and finish at Willow Bay. To get to the start, enter the park via Long Branch Road. This is a women-only event that was created in 1993 as part of the Womens Distance Festival Series that was, at the time, being promoted throughout the country. The motivation for the series was to get a Womens 5K Race into the Olympic games as up until then, it was thought that a 5K was too long of a distance for women! -
