The 5k race kicks off at 9 AM from the Indian Mills Memorial School parking lot, leading runners through a scenic course before finishing back at the school. Each 5k participant will receive an electronic chip time, and age group finisher medals will be awarded, along with special Thanksgiving pies for the fastest male and female runners.
For those looking for a shorter challenge, the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk starts shortly after the 5k. Participants will complete a series of laps around the circular driveway, earning popsicle sticks for each lap they complete, which can be exchanged for a participation medal. With awards for both events announced shortly after the races, the Shamong Turkey Trot promises to be a fun-filled day that celebrates community spirit and healthy living. Timeline and Event Info:
8am-9am: Check-In
8 Warm-up with 3DPT
9am: 5k start. (The race will begin in the Indian Mills Memorial School parking lot, then turn left on Old Indian Mills Road, left on Grassy Lake, left on Stokes Road, left on Oakshade, and a left onto Old Indian Mills Road, and finish in the Indian Mills Memorial School parking lot. The 5k race will be electronic chip timed with combined start and finish lines. Finisher medals for men and women will be awarded to age-groups 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Thanksgiving Pies will be given to 1st Male and 1st Female to finish.
