The 40th Annual Great Pumpkin Race 5K, organized by the Pensacola Runners Association, is set to take place on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 in beautiful Pensacola, Escambia. This popular event attracts around 1,200 participants each year and features a scenic route through historic East Hill. Proceeds from the race go towards benefiting the Sacred Heart Cathedral School's capital improvements. Winners receive a Pumpkin Run drawstring backpack and Junior Division runners can earn Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals. Participants in the 1-mile Little Pumpkin Fun Run receive a participation ribbon. Race materials include goodies and post-race treats like the locally-famous Pumpkin Bread and fantastic door prizes. Organiser's Description
The popular 5K race, which begins at 12th Avenue and Moreno Street and winds through scenic and historic East Hill, is sanctioned by the Pensacola Runners Association and attracts close to 1,200 participants each year. Proceeds from the race benefit the Sacred Heart Cathedral School and are used to contribute to the capital improvements to the buildings and grounds.
Overall winners last year received a Pumpkin Run drawstring backpack with pockets and the top three runners in each Junior Division receive a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal. All runners participating in the 1-mile Little Pumpkin Fun Run receive an I did it! participation ribbon.
In addition, you can find goodies with your race materials. There is always plenty of the locally-famous Pumpkin Bread for re-fueling and fantastic door prizes following the race.

Team registration ends at 11:59 PM Friday, November 1, 2024. Any teams registering or adding members after 11:59 PM on Friday, October 25, 2024 will not be able to pick up team packets prior to packet pick-up. All team packets must be picked up at one time by the Team Captain or designated team member for team distribution. Team members are not eligible to pick up packets individually. Pumpkin Run shirts are very popular. Please register early. Shirts and shirt sizes are not guaranteed for teams after October 11, 2024. -
