Get ready to celebrate Independence Day with a splash of fitness at the 51st Annual BASF Firecracker 4! Taking place on Friday, July 4, 2025, in the vibrant community of Lake Jackson, Brazoria, this exciting event features a 4-mile run and a 2-mile walk, perfect for participants of all ages and skill levels. The race kicks off at 7:30 AM from Dunbar Park, located at 803 FM 2004, where runners will enjoy a scenic course with water stations to keep them refreshed.
Before the main event, kids can join in on the fun with a special Kids Run starting at 7:15 AM, offering free T-shirts and finisher medals to all young participants. With a range of overall and age group awards up for grabs, including categories for ages 14 and under through to 70 and over, there’s motivation for everyone to lace up their shoes! Make sure to register early to secure your spot and be part of this festive community gathering, where proceeds will support the District 2S4 Lions Charities. Don’t miss out on a day filled with fun, fitness, and community spirit!

RACE INFORMATION

COURSE CAUTIONS:
The course is open to vehicular traffic on the roads. There will be plenty of room for both runners and vehicles, but there wont be much traffic at the time of the race.
TIME LIMIT:
The race starts at 7:30 AM and closes at 9:00 AM.
SHIRTS, AWARDS, POST RACE:
* Overall and Age group awards! Overall and Masters, Top 3 in age group awards for 14 & under, 15-19, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s plus.
* Post Race Food and Drinks
* SHIRTS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS YEAR'S RACE FEES
AID STATIONS:
There will be water available at the 1 mile, just past the 2nd mile, and at the 3rd mile points on the course. Toilets are located at the start of the race near the pavilion.
LATE REGISTRATION ($40) AND PACKET PICK UP:
Thursday, July 3: 4PM to 7PM at Dunbar Park Pavillion
Friday, July 4: 6:00-7:00am at Dunbar Park Pavilion
KIDS RUN
The Kids Run will begin at 7:15. Free T-shirts and finisher medals to all participants.
The Kids Run is free and open to kids 12 and under. Kids 7-12 run is 1000 meters and the kids 6 and under run is 500 meters.
We're sorry, but registrations after June 24th are not guaranteed a race T-shirt.
Proceeds from the race will go to District 2S4 Lions Charities, a 501c3 organization.
