HOW EXCITING IT WILL BE TO RUN ON OUR AIRPORT RUNWAY!!!
Take off on Saturday, May 3, 2025, for the 2025 5K on the Runway, presented by the Evansville
Wartime Museum, benefiting the Evansville P-47 Foundation, Inc. giving runners a unique
view of the airport and the Evansville Wartime Museum, while having fun and supporting a
great, local organization.
At 9:00 a.m. CDT join hundreds of runners and walkers as they take off from the Evansville
Wartime Museum with supporters cheering everyone along. The route will take you along the
Evansville Regional Airport runways, taxiways, and ramps, while catching a glimpse at the Air
Traffic Control Tower and the Airport Safety Department. You will see the Evansville built P-47
Thunderbolt, Hoosier Spirit II," as well as the 1943 Chrysler M4AF Sherman Tank, Rosies
Revenge.
You will be Making a difference:
All proceeds from the 5K on the Runway will support the mission of the P-47 Foundation
by protecting and procuring in perpetuity the P-47 Thunderbolt in an effort to honor those
who served and to educate current and future generations in the sense of community price,
recognition and respect attributed to all who sacrificed in the name of Freedom.
Stick around afterwards for award presentations, delicious food, coffee, and vendors with their
running apparel and other community programs.
DATE AND LOCATION:
The 5K run will be at 9am and 1 mile will be held at 9:05 am on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Evansville
Wartime Museum, 7503 Petersburg Road, Evansville, IN 47725.
The 1-mile walk will be held at the same time as the 5K run, but on a separate part of the
runway.
The Kids Flight race will be held at 8:30 am CDT at the Evansville Wartime Museum.
Registration and Entry Fee:
The 5K run and 1 mile walk registration fee is $ 25, until February 14, 2025, and $ 30 afterwards.
From May 1 to May 3, 2025, the registration fee increases to $ 35.00.
The Kids Flight registration fee is $ 5.00 and includes a medal for their
participation.
Register by April 12th to guarantee your shirt size.
We will order extras but the extras will be at a first come first pick basis.
Registration on Race Day:
If you decide to join the fun at the last minute, you can register in the lobby at Evansville
Wartime Museum on race day from 7:00 to 8:30 am. You may pay by cash or check and the cost is
$ 35.00.
PACKET PICKUP:
T-Shirts, race bib numbers and registration packets will be available for pickup on Friday, May 2,
2025, at the Evansville Wartime Museum, 7503 Petersburg Rd, Evansville, IN 47725. T-shirts
will be distributed to each participant to wear during the event. While registering
online, you will be asked for your t-shirt size.
On race day, registration will be accepted from 7:00 8:30 am at the Evansville Wartime
Museum.
KIDS RUN:
Children from the age of 1 to 9 years old may participate in the Kids Flight race on their own.
Beginning at 8:30 am, the Kids Flight race is from 50 meters to 150 meters. All finishers of the
Kids Flight will receive a medal.
13-year-olds- 50 meters
4- 6-year-olds- 100 meters
7- 9-year-olds- 150 meters.
The cost is $ 5 per child and includes a medal after each heat.
AWARDS:
First place trophies will be awarded to the overall male and female runners. First place medals
will be given to winners in each age bracket. This includes walking participants.

Parking is available at Thunderbolt Golf Range at 6901 Petersburg Road, Evansville,
Indiana. Shuttle service will be provided from the golf range to the Evansville Wartime Museum.
Additional parking logistics will be shared closer to the event date.
Handicap parking will be available at the Evansville Wartime Museum for accessibility purposes.
Please indicate on your registration your need for a handicap parking spot.

As a result of this fundraiser, individuals and family members wishing to visit the
Evansville Wartime Museum may visit and explore on race date only, May 3, 2025, for a
special rate of $5/per person.
